Got an annoying text problem with PC8.
Open up a drawing with text on it and cant select text, almost same as it being on a locked layer.
Can select and edit any other objects on the layer but not the text.

Checked that edit all layers is on (as I said can interact with all other elements on that later).

Take the drawing into PC7 however and all works the way it should.
Any tips or work arounds? (taking drawings into PC7 not much of a work around)

the only thing I can thick of is that you may have text deselected within the selection filter window?

Are you able to edit the text by double clicking over the text object?

Can't think of anything else that might cause this

I just received a DWG file from a colleague and I translated it into PC8.

What was interesting about this file is that I had to use the Advanced Text tool to edit text. Also, this happened with DWG files I received from manufacturers.

I don't consider it a real problem, just it's a bit less convenient than before.

Kind of like the inexplicable omission of the Status tool in what is supposed to be an "upgrade" Twisted Evil

Found the answer.

Leader text counts as a dimension and we had 'hide dimensions' switch on.
