I am just getting going on OSX. I am running 10.2.8.

One of the reasons I have been dragging my feet is the fact that I am losing my faithful Epson Stylus Color 1520. Epson says no driver will be available.

I read long ago here of options for using these old dinosaurs. I don't use Powercadd enough to warrant buying a new large format printer

Gimp print?

Can one of you steer me in the right direction. Is it even possible? If not what is my cheapest option for a large format printer?

You may want to consider upgrading to Panther as I believe that it contains all the Gimp Print Drivers. I have my Epson 3000 running with Panther and there was no need to go with Gimp. You will also find that your PowerCADD among other things will operate faster and with more stability. A number of misc. problems/irritations were solved by Panther for me.

The following link will help . . .

http://www.rosegill.com/Bullpen/Printing/EpsonSC1520.html

Panther does have Gimp Drivers but not for the Epson 1520. The help page covers installing the drivers and getting the quality and performance you are likely accustomed to.

Good Luck
