Hi!
Working on an old age home is very interesting as it involves a clear look at every point, you cannot compromise with any of the forms and comforts.
Old age home should at first fulfill the mental needs of the old persons , which differs from place to place eg. in India old people tend to be more spiritual than at any age, they make there mind to be with the God for rest of their life so prayer becomes the most important part of their life.A place for their residence should also incorporate that. It should be kept in mind that old people tend to be very orthodox type, even though they were a different personality at a young age so place of prayer should give complete peace to them along with respecting their feelings.
Old age home should incorporate a complete health kit ie. for yoga, meditation, walks, light exercises etc. Its true that old people needs a doctor every time but they should not feel it to be so and should feel completely free at the home.
There are many things more to be included like the building should be so designed that people dont have to take strain to go anywhere they need etc.
hope its what you expected _________________ ......and miles to go before I sleep....... |
