To support richer, more automated interconnections, architecturally tailored searchability, and expanding functionality, and as suggested by participant input, over the last couple of weeks we've been adding "semantic wiki" functionality and tools at Archiplanet.
Semantic wiki gives more database-like functionality to wiki pages via easily embedded data tags, somewhat akin to field labels. We're adding the semantic stuff within information blocks that are already structured using easy templates, so the contributor experience isn't encumbered. Apparently we're currently in the forefront of this exploration, in a dimension or two anyway:

It's a very cool addition to the wiki stuff. And one that moves the wiki foundation closer to something that melds gracefully with other successsful Artifice patterns in user and task-centered 'low tech/high tech' media. |

| Thanks for your post on use of semantic wiki in Archiplanet and the link to ontoworld.org. As I'm just new to the concept of semantic wiki but not new to database and xml concepts, can you suggest ways to get up to speed in learning about semantic wiki? Many thanks! |
