Since OSX 10.4, the Classic system is no longer available, so DW can't run on modern Macs anymore. Is there anything Artifice can tell us on the status of an OSX version?

Dear Rolando,

Actually, the latest version of DesignWorkshop for Macintosh (1.8.6) works very well in the Classic environment, running on every PowerPC version of Mac OS X through version 10.4.11.

And although Apple no longer installs it on more recent Macs, OS 9 has shipped with every new PowerPC Mac (G3, G4, G5) for Classic Environment support.

If you need help installing Mac OS 9 for Classic Environment support on your computer, or if you need help using DesignWorkshop in the Classic Environment, please contact Artifice Support at support@artifice.com

Please note that Apple does not support the Classic Environment on Mac systems with Intel processors. And with all versions of Mac OS 10.5, Apple no longer provides support for the Classic environment.

Is there an alternate to Design Workshop one could use with OS X 1.4? Or any other version of the same which could run on latest Mac?

Unfortunately, I have both an Intel Mac and OSX 10.5, hence my comment that Classic is no longer available.
