I am wanting to fabricate and install 3 doors with a center pivot in a reno I am planning.
The doors are 1.7mx2.5mH, 50x25 RHS and 25x25 SHS welded frame and glazed with 6.38 lam. I want to pivot the doors at 1/3 in from the side with the pivot internally (inside the room).
I like a simple industrial style and honesty of materials. I am thinking of hanging the doors on automotive shaft bearings on a 50mm dia steel tube running full height floor to ceiling (hi-lites above the doors about 1.0mH) The bearings are bolted to the door frame.
I am looking for architects/images of the industrial style and hopefully similar door details.
Any advice/direction on the above would be greatly appreciated.

For doors hinged or pivoted at points not within the plane of the door, the swing of the door becomes an issue. So, you had better draw this set of doors in plan, and plot how the door edges interface with each other, and with the jambs -- if you have not already done so.
50 mm tube pivots seem unnecessarily large in diameter, for the load; the forces are grouped close together at the top and bottom pivots, and the bulk of the tube is only doing the job of keeping the pivots aligned vertically, no ?

I have plotted the arc of the door leaves to check for clashes so that's OK.
Regarding the 50dia tube it is most likely a bit over cooked but I'm more interested in the proportion and available bearing sizes. There will be a bit of moment on the top hinge due to wind load and the pivot will be 1.0M from the end for the top.
Appreciate the input though.

I'm sure you've thought it through. Are these doors ganged into a single opening ? Somehow that was my impression.
So, you were looking for images of similar installations ? I bet your own graphics would be quite persuasive. . .but I'll keep my eye open for anything already out there. The visible pivots and bearings would be a nifty and unique feature, wouldn't they.
(You can probably expect the unwary user to grab the pivot pole as a push or pull ? Maybe an obvious handle or plate on the opposite stile of the door solves that issue ?)

Good point about the handle. As the doors are not for 'regular' access I hadn't thought of an obvious handle.
The idea is more of an operable wall as opposed to a mean of access/egress.
I appreciate the tips though.
