It was bound to happen sometime or another. It does look like from news reports that Iran has been invaded but a bunch of crazy freedom loving american protesters. At least from this reporters eyes.
I hope this turns out well.

The report was false! I recant my last post. It's was the signs in English that threw off my perception. They are in fact: crazy freedom loving Iranian protesters! Do the right thing. Freedom doesn't come easy.

Derek, DJ... those were Persians, real Iranians, who certainly have the American spirit in them, so maybe you were right the first time. Crazy, courageous, heartbreaking wonderful. And tragic too.
Let me jump to the exploding story of Neda Soltani and her tragic death in the last 48 hours. If this story is true, and all accounts strongly indicate that the story is tragic and terribly true, then I hear the family of Neda Agha Soltani is not allowed to openly commemorate her legacy within Iran.
Well, then let me try in my imperfect way, with a commemoration to Neda’s life which could-have-been, to the wonderful Persian mother she would have been, to the family she would have had, and who shows so much resemblance to Patty Smyth, reminding me, we are so much one family, one world, divided too many times by our governments....but not by our hearts and our spirits.
 .
...And with this respect to all Persians, to all humanity really, if it is not inappropriate at this time, let me again share with you one of the most beautiful songs ever sung, written, performed, a Patty Smyth and Don Henley duet...

Apparently, via CNN, we are hearing reports of a major, major repression events going on in Teheran, including mass beatings, gunfire, even to the extent of pulling injured protestors out of hospitals, for arrest and incarceration and most probably torture elsewhere (who knows where or what?).
The family of Neda Agha Soltani have been ordered out of their home, in addition to all the other stories of slaughter going on.
Historically, it is like clockwork proven, today's violence from the existing government can only signal the beginning of the end of the Teheran ruling party as we have seen it. True, in my opinion, it may take 5 more years of repression and murder and brutality, but today will most likely signal the turning point, and be remembered as when "bad" became "intolerably deadly", and consequently where moderate Iranian leaders will organize and start a change from within.
