I noticed some users are having a problem about PowerCadd jumping to a different layer while drawing. I too am having this problem and I always thought it was something that I was doing but could never figure it out. I only have four layers- Border, Main, Shade, & Title. I use the "Main" layer for 98% of my drawing but while drawing once or twice a day it jumps up to the top "Border" Layer and I can't figure out why. I thought I was hitting the comma command accidentally but that moves the current layer downward on the list- not to the top.
Anyone have any ideas? |

If it happens while drawing, note which drawing tool you were using.
The behavior sounds like a setting for the tool to put the objects on a specific named layers. You have this ability with dimensioning tools in both PC and WT.

| I have your dimension layer option set correctly to Current layer. I don't think it is dimensions that changes the layer but it is hard to tell when it happens since I usually catch it later on in the day. |

Hello again Alfred,
You mention that the layer option is available on both Wildtools and PowerCadd but I only see as an option in Wildtools. I am missing soemthing? Again, I have it set correctly to current layer but maybe your code is buggy and causing it to accidentally move layers??
By the way- this layer option for dimensioning- Maybe you and PowerCadd should get together and have it as a setting in the Layout- Drawing setup- Dimension menu. This seems to be the logical place for setting a layer up for dimensions.
Thanks for keeping on eye on the forum. |

Check Layout menu > Layer Tools
If it's ON (checked) that can automatically switch a layer too. Hold OPTION while choosing Layout menu > Layer Tools to set (see) the layer name that is enabled automatically.
might not be what's causing your problem but it's worth double checking _________________ I hope that helps
Cheers

I never used this layer tools option before and forgot about it. I looked at it and it is set off. None of the Layer names under this option even correspond with my layers.
Again- I may not use it or have it set but that doesn't mean that the bug isn't in this location.
Thanks for your attempted help.
I just live with it although it sometimes gets pretty irritating. |
