My printer informed me yesterday that my sheets were all 25" wide; he wanted to know if I was aware of it.
Heck no. I selected Arch D in Page Setup and used it; and Arch D says 24" x 36", but prints 25x36. This is using the Classic driver for the HP 755cm.
So, I setup the gimp driver. Had to use the 750 but I think the two printers are the same except for internal PS. This driver, though, doesn't support rotated drawings, and appears to ignore printer settings as well as software settings on rotation, so I don't know how wide it would print. Go figure.
Weird.

I have a 755cm and have created custom sheet sizes. I don't use Gimp (or at least not that I know of...) For my 24 x 36 sheet, I set it up as 24.4h x 36w, so that I can print with the 36" sheet width across the 36" roll width. The 24.4" dimension is because my border is 1/2" from the edge of the sheet and the printer's minimum is .6". (My sheets were set up a long time ago and it fits my detail module, etc, so I really don't want to change the 23" wide dimension within my borders.)
I should trim the extra .4" off the sheets, but my print company does it for me..
Lately, for having the print shop print from PDF's, I have set up sheets that are exactly 24 x 36, with no margins, and it seems to work well. |

anyway, it looks like the way to do this is a custom sheet that is 23x36. Kinda weird. In your case, you set up a 24.4" sheet and it prints 24". Sheesh.

I am using the driver that came with panther (I think). Prior to that, I had downloaded a driver from HP's website and it worked the same.
Clarification on the sheet size: the cut sheets are indeed 24.4" x 36" an I need to trim .2" off the top and bottom. I set it up this way due to limitations on how close the printer can print from the top and bottom edges of the paper. |
