I have 130 or so and get this...
I have conciously installed one set of 5 or so (architect pak) and I use only 3 or 4 regularly.
You can't just delete fonts willy nilly can you? the system demands some and Adobe products need some, right?

I have 172 fonts in my FONT BOOK (bottom of the FONT BOOK WINDOW has this information) ... As matt has asked how many do I use in a week?
Two family are used "UNIVERS" and "TREBUCHET MS"
Looks as if I should learn how to use the FONT BOOK application _________________ robert d. wease ra, ncarb

I probably use 5 in a given week. (Times, Bell MT, Helvetica, Georgia, Verdana) not including the courier, lucida grande, arial, etc. which are default in the system and browser settings.
I probably really want to have around half of the 77 installed font families for various 'every-so-often' applications. Wingdings has even come in handy once or twice.
Anyone know of any reason not to delete the asian fonts that came installed? (Hei, Hiragino, Osaka, STHeiti) ? |

Too many. Many applications shoved a bunch into my machine when they were installed, without even asking me. I use about a half dozen most of the time.
I've gone through the Font Book a couple of times and turned some off, but more appear with every new application or (sometimes) application upgrade. |

I use three of four fonts.
Many of the fonts in my computer are, I guess, needed for proper HTML displays while on the Internet.
It's a pain but I deal with it. _________________ John Cruet

I used to keep a lot of fonts installed for graphic work, most were maybe's. A few months ago I got tired of scrolling long font menus for my favorites. I removed all the ones I didn't need, keeping only the standard issue for Mac OS and cross platform compatibility, typically called web fonts.
When I installed OSX I did a custom install and learned how to use the Font Book. The Font Book makes it change fonts and know which fonts to keep i.e. web compatible.
I currently only have about 15 installed compared with about 115 before.
I use 1 only fonts with PowerCADD, an architectural font in small caps and standard text for sizes over 10 points and Arial for smaller text.

Sorry . . . I should proof read before posting. I sound illiterate.
