I am being cautious on the install of PowerCADD6, WildTools and PowerDWG due to problems with previous version installs (PC2000 and before).
The PowerCADD install asked for the Install Codes for PowerDWG and WildTools as well. I put the codes in and they appear to be working. I assume I don't need to install anything from the WildTools and PowerDWG discs, is this correct?
The installed versions are:
PowerCadd: 6.1.1
WildTools: 7.1.2 (WildThing in the WildTools folder)
PowerDWG: 6.1.1 (DWG Translato.localized in the PowerDWG folder)
These appear to be the latest from the website, though the PwerDWG is a little confusing as version 6.0.9 is the latest listed on the updates page.
Thanks,
Pete |

| Another question. Is there any problem leaving PowerCADD 2000 installed or should I remove it? |

Peter,
Every update is an independet installation and each time you will be asked for your install code. It is vastly improved from prior versions which were an absolute pain. CD versions are not required.
As for multiple versions, it is OK to keep PC2000 on your machine also. If you have any ClarisCad files that need to be opened you should not abandon PC2000 as PC6 will not open them.
Things are improved all the way around. I remember agonizing about installing an update on OS9.xx and prior versions. Now, it's abreeze...I just wish PC would remember your install codes so we don't have to enter them each time. |
