Any idea about why I don't have any hatches on my Pcadd just fills?
I tried to erase the Default file on the Preferences folder: nothing happened..
I have been using Pcadd since last May and I prefer color fills instead of hatches but now I need to hatch! Should I have to create all of them? Thanks

I had all of my hatches disappear in PCAD 8 about a week ago. I used a backup of my preferences and all was OK. I'm not sure what happened.

I keep a zipped copy of the entire preference folder located at:
Users/(your_home_folder)/Library/Preferences/PowerCADD
just for these cases. I'm not sure which one was corrupted.

I haven't had a problem with this and had not thought about it for a long time. But this confuses me. My different files have different hatches in them. How can changing one preference file bring back hatches? Is it that all hatches are stored there and the files just know which to reference? _________________ Peter B |

That's an excellent question. The symptom with my computer was the entire menu area that is filled with hatches was empty, but there was a "trace" of the window that should be there with a zero width. This is probably a preference issue and not that the actual hatches are gone. I have ALWAYS kept a backup copy of the PowerCADD preferences and it has saved me in all versions from tearing more hair out.

Just a gentle reminder, Derek, that we all could use a PC8 compatible version of the PowerCADD Preference Utility. I manually save copies of my preferences, but your utility was so superior. (I am not complaining, just encouraging. I really appreciate your initiative/effort to create the utility in the first place.)
thanks,
