|
I made my shortcuts as usual (6.09 then 6.1, syst X.3) : now each time I load PC, the shortcuts are forgotten.
New try with a copy of the shortcuts file I made 2 days ago, same thing.
Creating new shorcuts in PC : same thing, impossible to keep them.
Deleting the whole PC preferences : idem.
Has someone an idea about this problem ? Thanks.

New try : I deleted all powercadd, inclusive the preference folder, reinstall everything (dwg, wildtools), 6.1 downloaded from ES.
New kernel and wibu install
Open PC
Make a few shortcuts (5)
Quit PC
Reopen : the new shortcuts disapeared, and the majority of the defaut shortcuts disapeared too. Impossible to work.
Needing help ! |

No time to do that for me François.
Just make a copy of "PowerCADD Raccourcis" file then put it into "PowerCADD" folder in preferences folder before launch PCD...
But some of my shortcuts appears to be corrupted so...go back to 6.09 for me
Some help will be fine... |

You may have fallen victim to the following:
If you do not make a new alias for your Dock after a new install, the old one will launch your old program -- even if it is in the Trash.
I have also had the experience that a file sent to me in an email will cause my older program in its "backup" folder to launch -- thus screwing up my preferences file and requiring various palette and tool settings to be redone.
Thus:
Always make a new alias for the Dock from your "new" program.
Always delete the old program if it is trashed.
If the old program is archived, make sure it is not accidently launched -- perhaps by locating it on a backup volume.[/u] _________________ Phil Loheed |

The trick of deleting the alias did function with me, and I don't understand why, because I had deleted everything that was in the trash. But now, I have the shortcuts. Thanks for that.
But another problem succeed to the first one : now, impossible to activate the "edit" window with tabulation. This shortcut doesn't function any more. I can create it, but once created it disapears. It must be a problem with the other shorcuts I made, because that's ok with the default shortcuts. I cannot localize the problem.
Any other idea ?? |

I had the same problem last week which was solved by making English the computer's language preference, and by making sure I have a French flag in the corner to run my AZERTY keyboard.
Mike Cleveland of PowerCADD suggested this but he doesn't know why the keyboard commands fail in the new version. I too tried throwing out the new and reinstalling the old with no success. With Mac OS X the machine automatically runs in the "host" language unless you ask it not to.
Obviously this is not satisfactory and ES are I hope solving their problem at the source. What do they do in Quebec?

Yes, the problem seems to be in the french localization ressource in PowerCadd.
I hope the next 6.11 version of PowerCadd solve this problem. |

While waiting for correction 6.1.1 for the french users who have problems
with their keyboard equivalents, here the resource which it is
necessary to replace in the file fr.lproj file Resources de PowerCADD.
It is located in the Contents file accessible by displaying the
contents from the package. It is enough to replace the resource. It is
necessary to leave PowerCADD for that. It is probable that it is
necessary to throw in the preferences the file: PowerCADD Shortened to
find the old equivalents in order to facilitate their data entry, one
can find them by opening the file: PowerCADD Defect keyboard.
