Where to begin...as they say photos tell 1000 words so if you think you might have some ideas or a curiosity to help, email me at - blocked - and I'll send you photos of my design nemisis....
Here's the short story....I'm turning a run down warehouse into a yoga studio. I need clean looking ceilings so that when my students are staring at the ceiling they are not noticing the grime that currently exists. I have an extremely limited budget for the project.
The vaulted ceiling consists of poorly painted white beams. Behind the beams, ie closer to the roof, is whiteish insulation though it's a shade closer to biege due to the dust and age. The insulation is coming apart at the seams in some places. My options so far appear to be
1) repaint the beams and to tape the ceiling. The problem with this option is that I'm afraid that the new white tape will stand out against the dingy insulation, not to mention the labor intensive painting and expensive paint.
2) Suspended ceiling with painted insulation foam to partially hide the existing ceiling. I Really don't want to loose too much height of the ceiling and am not sure if I can follow the line of the ceiling to do this.
3) Fabric. Seems a bit fire risky due to the large industrial heater (not to mention the ripples from the heater in the winter) and the lighting situation.
Anyway, a view of photos might help you understand what in the heck I'm talking about. Please EMAIL soon as this project is happening yesterday and not tomorrow (aren't they all)
Thank you,
Karen |

Try this link for an intreresting product from Owens Corning called "Quietzone Solserene Fabric Ceiling System." I do not know the price, but you may be able to find a similar product that might cover your interior ceiling. This product is a fabric that stretches and is fire resistant. It is installed in a perimeter track system.
(Note: phone modem users - this may take a long time to load - the file is in Acrobat Reader pdf format.

I saw this product displayed at the recent "Parade of Homes" near Columbus Ohio USA. I can imagine a number of applications for this product.[/url] |
