You should create a new palette containing all the settings related to hatches : Color, scale, rotation ...
Anyway, PC8 looks to be underway to rock. |

Can the edit menu font be enlarged ?
Tough to read on a 30" screen.
I put my tool windows on my 17" Mac Book Pro and reduce the resolution but I would rather have the option of having them on my large display. |

ArchiX was a series of architectual extensions and tools created by Richard Dotto in France. At some point, he stopped work on these.
These tools had some useful capabilities, and people sent me the user manuals, and I went over them carefully to see if there was anything I wanted to tackle and put into WildTools.
The main thing he had was a series of tools for composite walls, but even the most enthusiastic users admitted barely being able to use them. They almost became a program within a program, and he had specialized tools to place and then manage and trim the wall objects.
I thought what he was attempting to do was crazy, and bear in mind that most people who know me say I'm a little crazy (and I can't imagine that many people could be wrong). I think he was falling into the classic trap of trying to over-automate a process.
So I went ahead with Composite Wall Tools where I deliberately tried to make them as simple as possible, and I tried to emulate the AppleWorks approach to creating software. I don't think it makes sense to create 'power tools' when a user is likely only going to use them occasionally. So we have the basic capability in Composite Wall Tools that lets you do everything you could with ArchiX tools in terms of creating the wall images, and they are intentionally very simple. This also means that there are some basic limitations such as how you must edit the objects at various wall intersections. When you try to do this manually, you'll see the difficulty involved, and in my view, the utter impossibility of automating the process.
As for the symbol library part of ArchiX tools, I didn't see any ideas I wanted to steal.

I'm afraid I have not used archi-x-tools since vers. 2000. And I am not sure I could even try, lack of OS9 and pre-USB dongle.
But I'm still using the libraries I bought with these plug-ins.
They were some very good tools : that libraries window, and a good stair tools very useful for sketching.
For libraries, a "open library" just above "open" would help, as most of the time all libraries are in a specific folder. |

for exemple what is not very good in the actual library window :
- Not resizable
- The field for the names is too much sort and should allow more than 31 characters ...
- a possibility to organize manually the order of the objects in the library, just like for the layers window, instead of the unique possibility "Sort" by name
- there is a big field to display the objects, but if they are small they appear completely tiny insted of being displayed wide and occupy all the space available in this field, and at least they would be more visible !
- the objects list, the scroll bar of the list and the object window have the bottom that just stops immediadely on the bottom of the window, it is not very beautiful.
- The window itself is too small, it as been designed at a time where screens were very smaller than now
- it is missing a button to erase, instead of using erease in the edition menu.
- You should make it looking like all standard windows : an icon barre where you can customize the icons positions with/without text like in every other windows instead of using these big ugly text buttons
- make a single window for every libraries open with a tab to switch between them instead of having as many as many libraries open

M-Rick,
Good points. Hasn't the library been updated in v. 8? It is probably the most ancient of all PC features. How about the text style?
Search by simply typing should be incorporated.
The size of objects displayed in the symbol palette should be fixed as well so you can see objects better. There's usually a lot of space left over. You could put the name in each visible box if there's going to be all that space.
