Hi!
I have a small bet going on. Which was established earlier as an institute?
Architectural Association or Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts?
AA: http://www.aaschool.ac.uk/Default.aspx?section=school&page=aa%20history&sst=1
Founded in 1847 ‘by a pack of troublesome students’, the Architectural Association is Britain’s oldest and most vital school of architecture, an institution whose independence of thought and operation have been fought for by the generations of students, tutors and staff who have passed through its doors.
Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts:

ounded in 1754, The School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts was originally named 'The Royal Danish Painting, Sculpture and Building Academy of Copenhagen', and was offered as a gift to King Frederik V on the occasion of his 31st birthday.
BUT...
In 1857 the school’s tradesman training programme was transferred to Det Techniske Selskabs Skole (presently known as Copenhagen Technical University), which meant that the King was no longer in charge, and subsequently the school officially became an academic institution.
You people decide.
Cheers! _________________ Be High n Fly! |
