I'm hoping that someone out there can help my husband and I find a new program for 2D drawings. We need a very simple basic program.
We already have "Design Workshop Lite" and we have already considered "Sketch Up". We need something much more simple than that. My husband was a mechanical engineer for a period of 15 years at PG & E. When everything started to change over there for the engineers it was time to leave. Good timing anyway, his dad retired from farming and so my husband took over the duties. Anyway, now he makes 2D drawings for our welder to make the metal parts. These parts are for anything from a frame for a small trailer to modifications on his tractors and more. In these drawings he would like to have arrows pointing away from the measurement for each side of the parts.
Is there such a simple program (for Mac)? Or one more simple than the above listed programs (lower priced also)? Maybe someone out there remembers "Mac Draw" and "Mac Draw II", a program of 17 years ago. That was a simple program that was almost perfect for my husband's drawings. We don't know of a new Mac Draw. |

| It sounds as though MacDraft Personal Edition by Microspot would probably do what you need it to. It's a reasonably priced, object-oriented drawing tool that should feel pretty familiar to someone who's used MacDraw. |
