Hi, I am looking for some insight. I have a single-story stick-frame house built in 1910 and am wondering if it would support a second story addition. I have heard that foundation footings were normally not poured back when my house was built, but I cannot confirm this bit of info. If this is the case I am also wondering if helical piers would be the best solution for supporting a second story. We do have a finished basement so access would not be a problem. Btw, the soil on the hill my house sits on is basically sand. Question
