Here's the rundown:
Sudden slowdown 85 bounces to launch.
Delete PowerCADD prefs folder: no effect.
Reinstall WIBU dongle software: no effext.
Repair Permissions: some repairs, but no effect on PowerCADD slow launch.
Grab an IT staff member and get him to restart and login as Administrator. (I am a managed user. Bah): the administrator can launch PowerCADD at normal launch speed.
A Ha!
Moved entire contents of my own Libray folder out of my user folder and restarted: PowerCADD now launches fine on my own user.
It seems I had a rougue preference somewhere that PowerCADD had problems at launch time (not it's own prefs). I don't know which, or where, except that it was somewhere in my user Library. (My Fonts were all OK)
Och well. At least it's fixed.

FYI
In addition to Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/PowerCADD
there is also Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.engsw.PowerCADD.plist
Did you already try deleting that one?
Or, could that be the file that was causing problems?

Hmm. No I didn't realise that file existed. That could have been it. I'll bear that in mind if the problem reappears.

I had a similar occurrence today when launching PowerCADD. Lot's of bouncing in the dock but then a message appeared saying I had been disconnected from one of the Hard Drives on another networked Mac in the office.
I think the message was generated from something other than PowerCADD (it looked like a system message). The interesting thing was that PowerCADD completed its launch straight after the message appeared.
Here's my thinking:
I'm wondering if the delay was caused by PowerCADD trying to update or access the "Recent Files" list. I had been using files from the disconnected drive earlier in the day.
Bob pointed out the com.engsw.PowerCADD.plist file and from an inspection of this text file it appears it contains details of the recently used files and their locations among other things.
I wonder if deleting or temporarily moving the .plist file would have solved your problem David. It may have somehow related to network access, something I know is dear to your heart  .
I'm stabbing in the dark a little on this one. Perhaps someone at E.S. could enlighten us? Eanie, Meanie, Minie, Todd?
