iam n architecture student in my final year
i am working as set designer
now i want to give a thesis in which i can incorporate set designing
as i want to continue with the same field
if any 1 can thnk abt any good topic let me knw

Did I answer you in some other forum?
Any way, why not do a theater for your thesis, and incorporate your thoughts, ideas, and innovations of set design-- specificaly, design the theater to address and utililize the cutting edge work of set design and provide for very creative sets, and ancillary equipment for sets [revolving, rising platforms, etc.] |

Hey Mariah...
Struggling to get your thesis topic..?? well..I think it's fine if u do a thesis on a FILM CITY.. In that u can include different typas of sets..it will be easy for you as you got experience in desigining sets. You can design space for different types of activities..an office, a playground...basketball..cricket..hoskey..tennis..or anything, a big house, a castle, a gallery, a bedroom, a hi-fi kitchen, a bathroom, a terrace with roof garden, a highway, a swimming pool etc..etc..etc. Design an artificial sea, river, valley, lake, mountains, desert, waterfalls and all kind of those tbings for shooting filmsongs. Design an artificial metro city with sky scrapers, big roads with rich cars,a shopping mall, an arcade, pubs, discos, bars etc..etc. Design worship places such as mosque, madrassa,church,temple etc. Include all these stuff and many more in the design. Sets shoud be easily fixed. If you select this topic Iadvice you to watch Bollywood [Hindi], tamil and english movies. It will help in your profession too. I think u will be doing so. You can also design permenant structures for film editng, recording, dubbing, screening and so on. Anyway all the BEST and feel free to contact. I would be glad to help you with my small ideas. |
