PowerCad saved as pdf

Postby Paul H » Mon Aug 31, 2015 12:30 pm

Using the print command using OS X 18.8.5 and saving PowerCAD architectural file in a pdf there are diagonal lines appearing across the pages. They start from a point in the upper left hand corner and at about a 45 degree angle begin to spread apart and decent across the sheet. This has never happened before, the lines are not on the drawing and it's random appearing in some pages and not others. Very frustrating. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Plans are due today.

I'm using current version of PowerCadd 9.1.3 and WildTools 10.1.2 on a 15" MacBook Pro.

Paul,

I've seen this on rare occasions. It is caused by an object, probably a polygon, where there are undefined points, probably at the first point, which is why it starts drawing at the top left, which is the zero-zero origin.

In the PDF menu of the print dialog, there is also a View in ??? (one of Apple's programs) and you will see the same diagonal lines there.

You will need to isolate the object by turning layers off or by noticing where the diagonal lines lead to. Probably you can click on some of the segments you see, then reshape or delete the object.

Send me the file. I can hunt it down for you. I deal with this from time to time frank@bognerpools.com

Alfred and Poolvibe my apologies for not responding sooner. I sent the file to Engineered Software and they fixed the file for me the next day. That's great service. Alfred thank you for the specific hunting for said polygon, but couldn't find it. What was very surprising is I had sent the pdf file to the printer and the prints came back without any of the diagonal lines printed. This suggests it's a pdf screen viewing anomaly. I've experimented with it just to see if it was consistent and sure enough the diagonals were on screen but do not print. Go figure.
Thanks again, your response's are much appreciated.
